Money, Banking and Finance
This programme is designed for graduates of any discipline who wish to pursue a career in the financial sector, and also for those who are seeking a general career in business or public service. Course content focuses on the finance and banking sectors and their importance to the functioning of economies and markets around the globe. You will develop an understanding of how these sectors work and why they matter. The programme has a quantitative element to help you develop the skills necessary to thrive in this competitive field. It also caters for those who want to know more about how the finance sector operates and how it assists business and government. To make the most of the programme you should have a foundation of mathematical and quantitative skills as a basis on which to build the advanced knowledge that it delivers.
A 2.2 Honours degree or equivalent with some quantitative studies. Competence in English is required for international students. For example: IELTS with 6.0 overall with 5.5 in each skill; previous study in English is accepted; candidates that do not meet the language requirements may take an English course at the University of Hull prior to entering the programme.
You will study subjects such as: financial markets; economics for business; foundations of finance; money and banking; introductory econometrics for finance. A range of optional modules will provide students with more opportunities to specialise. As with many of our programmes, you will also study professional skills and ethics, research methods and undertake a dissertation.
