University of Hull
Our MSc programme gives you both the social and technical skills demanded by employers, ensuring you are well equipped to meet the contemporary challenges in project management. You will explore and investigate real-life project case studies based on the expertise of our staff, and will apply methods to experiment with different approaches, including complexity and systems methods which are not usually offered on project management programmes. Our academic staff have substantial, experience in a range of industry and public sector projects, including the European Capital of Culture 2014 and Hull City of Culture 2017.
The programme is designed for graduates from any discipline with a strong interest in project management. However, we do recommend that they have a basic knowledge and understanding of this area. Applicants should have a good Honours degree or equivalent, one academic reference and a good command of English.
You can study in 3 sequential blocks of 3 modules each graduating at the end of each block with a certificate (1st block); a diploma (2nd block) and a Masters degree (3rd block). Time breaks can be taken between blocks. You will study subjects such as: systems thinking and practice methods, including systems dynamics modelling; PMBOK, APM and PRINCE methodologies; governance methods of team leadership and relationships; supply chain strategy and design; practice project analysis. As with many of our programmes, you will also study professional skills and ethics, research methods and undertake a dissertation.
