Contemporary Performance Practice

This course gives students the opportunity to work at a theatre company with training in company management and creative processes. The course assists students to be equipped for employment, emerging with excellent creative theatre skills alongside a range of transferable skills including communication, co-operation, organisation, self presentation and problem solving. Students are also well placed to pursue studies to a higher level, or to start their own company.

Entry requirements

An upper 2nd class Honours degree or better, usually in a relevant humanities subject. In certain circumstances, the School will consider candidates who have not followed a conventional education path or who may have relevant experience in the industry. These cases are assessed individually by the Director of Graduate Studies.

Course modules

Contemporary performance practice mark 2; contemporary performance practice mark 3; contemporary performance practice mark 1; contemporary performance practice 4: professional study; dissertation project.

Assessment methods

Assessment is by written work, presentations, contributions to workshops and performance itself. The final dissertation requires students to research a project and present its findings in an appropriate form.
