This course provides students with the analytics tools to analyse and interpret data, forecast future trends, automate and streamline decisions, and optimize courses of action. Emphasis is placed on learning fundamental analytics techniques, such as statistical analysis; data mining; database management; forecasting and regression; optimization, simulation and spreadsheet modelling among others. Students learn how to apply descriptive, predictive and prescriptive modelling techniques to help organisations improve performance, explore alternatives, and anticipate and shape business outcomes in a rapidly changing environment.
A first degree (2.1 or equivalent) preferably in a quantitative discipline.
Assessment is by coursework, examinations and the dissertation.
