Strategic Business Management
The MSc in Strategic Business Management provides a postgraduate award with a strong focus on employability; it is aimed at graduates who have an interest in developing an in depth knowledge and a critical understanding of the key aspects of strategic business and management, and in particular, who are looking to pursue, advance or switch to a career in business management. The master's programme is designed so that you can complete your course in a 12 month period. You will develop a broad comprehension of the most important concepts in management with a strategic perspective in a global context. You will apply theoretical concepts and business models to real life case studies, in a practice based environment. The programme provides the intellectual underpinnings required for a career in a rapidly changing work environment, a rigorous approach to self-awareness and personal development and a significant exposure to the world of work and its current demands.
MSc: 2:2 or above from a UK Bachelors degree, or equivalent qualifications. Students applying from outside of the UK should also possess an English language level equivalent to IELTS 6.5 or above with a minimum of 5.5 in each component. Assessment is designed to meet the programme and module learning outcomes both academically and professionally in formative form including the preparation and feedback from seminars, workshops, tests and presentations, as well as in summative assessment that contributes to the grade, including assignment, group work/studies, project and exam. In particular, as is usual in the sector, this programme involves a considerable amount of group work and group assessment.
