Race and Resistance

This course gives you breadth and depth of knowledge of historical and theoretical approaches to race and strategies of resistance, in a unique combination of: American, African, Indian and British history

Entry requirements

A 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent, in history or a related subject; applicants whose 1st language is not English require an IELTS score of 6.5, with at least 6.0 in all components.

Course modules

Core modules: Research methodology in history; approaches to race.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on coursework, with a mixture of essays, discursive writing, reviews, and presentations. Optional modules are generally assessed with the submission of 2 3000-word essays, and the dissertation is of 15,000 words in length, submitted at the end of the academic year.
