Students study Arabic and Middle Eastern studies; students undertake original research under the supervision of 1 or more academic staff; students undertake research training.

Entry requirements

For Masters a BA 2.1 or equivalent; for PhD applicants must hold or be studying for an MA or equivalent. English language requirement is IELTS 6.5 overall with not less than 6.0 in any component.

Assessment methods

These include a thesis; for PhD 300 pages or 100,000 words; for MPhil 200 pages or 60,000 words; MA(Res) 100 pages or 30,000 words which is examined by viva at the end of their period of study.
