Japanese Business

The programme is designed for those who wish to develop their career in a Japanese business related capacity. With language being the key to local business environments, the programme also aims at developing Japanese language skills. A considerable portion of the programme is devoted to language provision at the appropriate level. In order to function effectively in Japan-related organisations the programme will equip students with knowledge in key issues and processes in the main generic areas of management and their application in a Japanese context. Optional modules will place the economy of Japan in its wider regional context.

Entry requirements

Upper 2nd Class Honours degree or other equivalent qualifications and relevant work experience; IELTS 6.5 overall, with at least 6.0 in all components.

Course modules

Core modules: Japanese business dynamics: an entrepreneurial approach; the Japanese economy; continuity and change; principles and practice of research; dissertation; East Asian language skills. Optional modules: Globalisation of innovation; cross cultural management; managing and exploiting intellectual capital; the emerging markets international business theory.

Assessment methods

This includes a dissertation.
