This course provides flexible training, preparing students for the interdisciplinary nature of modern bioscience. MSc Bioscience provides excellent training for students who wish to develop a broad scientific base from which to build their future careers. This degree allows you to select modules from a range of taught specialist options. This means you can study those modules that interest you the most and match your career aspirations. This course consists of core research training modules designed to equip students with the expertise necessary to work at the cutting edge of a modern bioscience sector, including research planning exercises, methodologies underpinning contemporary bioscience, and a practical project providing hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques. Added to this is an independent research project in an area related to your course options. Specialist taught modules make up the remaining part of the course and you may select from a broad range of topic areas which include: biotechnology; plant science; infection, immunity and human disease; bioinformatics and computational biology.

Entry requirements

A 2:1 Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, but relevant experience may be taken into account.
English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall with at least 6.0 in all components.
