Membrane Biophysics and Biotechnology
Research projects underway include investigations of the charge transport mechanisms of membrane proteins, applications of synthetic membranes tethered to electrode surfaces (solid-supported bilayers), and development of reagentless electrochemical biosensors; work is also ongoing on the development of libraries of synthetic binding proteins, including DARPINS, for use in biosensor development and clinical diagnosis.
A bachelor degree with a 2.1 or above in a relevant subject; applicants with a 2.2 and a Master�s degree at merit or higher will also be eligible. GCSE English language grade C (or above) or an equivalent recognised English language qualification e.g. IELTS: 6.5 with not less than 6.0 in listening, reading, speaking and writing.
