International Educational Management
This programme is for graduate students and experienced professionals that wish to deepen their understanding of education management and leadership; it explores the practical management of an educational institution, the differences in education management between countries, and the significance of informed policies and plans; the programme teaches participants from many different countries; the university make use of such varied student experiences, using case-studies from different educational contexts, so they can explore contemporary education management theories and apply these theories to their own culture and workplace.
Generally a 1st degree in a relevant subject, along with 2 years' experience in the field of education; some management experience is also desirable; overseas candidates must provide evidence of English language proficiency.

Optional modules: International educational management (developing leadership); international educational management (developing staff for institutional improvement); international educational management (developing financial and material resources); international educational management (effective development of policies and plans for change); introduction to educational research methods and approaches to data collection; directed study in education 1; science education (teaching and learning); science education (curriculum and professional development); issues in information communication technology and education; learning with virtual worlds; design and evaluation of web-based learning environments; e-learning (principles and practices); the 14-19 curriculum; mathematics (curriculum and assessment); learning and teaching mathematics; trends in research in mathematics education; special educational needs (principles and practice); special educational needs (international perspectives); developmental disorders 1 (dyslexia and developmental coordination disorder); developmental disorders 2 (attention deficit disorder and autistic spectrum disorder); teaching children with learning difficulties; teaching children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties; learning and teaching in TESOL; investigating language for TESOL; learning and teaching vocabulary; grammar, learning and teaching; teacher education for TESOL; assessing language learning; materials development for TESOL; language learning and teaching with information communication technology (online).
