Teaching English for Academic Purposes (TEAP)
This programme is for experienced language professionals that wish to develop an understanding of the teaching and learning of English for specific academic contexts; it provides students with a deeper understanding of the background, theories, practices and research in academic English; students become ready to apply this knowledge to specific academic situations, whether they are in the classroom, in course design, in evaluation, or in other academic and situations; the programme helps students analyse the learning requirements of a group of language learners, and design, teach and evaluate a programme of study.
Good 1st Class degree and at least 2 years relevant experience in the field of education; applicants with alternative experience considered on an individual basis.
Core modules: Critical study; learning and teaching in TESOL; investigating language for TESOL; Teaching Academic English; Corpus Linguistics in the Classroom ; optional modules include: directed study in education; the practice of supporting language teacher learning; learning and teaching vocabulary; grammar, learning and teaching; teacher education for TESOL; materials development for TESO.
Some scholarships available for both UK/EU and international students.
