Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (China)

This programme is for experienced Chinese TESOL professionals, such as teachers, teacher trainers, language school directors, curriculum developers, researchers, lecturers and materials writers; the programme takes place at the Guangdong Foreign Studies University in Guangzhou; the programme explores current insights, issues and problems within TESOL, and assesses the theoretical frameworks for the language learning, teaching and testing processes; experienced language professionals from both Britain and China teach the programme in order to ensure that the programme is as relevant to the Chinese TESOL context as possible.

Entry requirements

Good 1st Class degree in a relevant discipline, in addition to 2 years relevant experience. Overseas candidates must meet specific requirements for English language which are kept under review.

Course modules

Core modules: Critical study; approaches and contexts in TESOL; introduction to 2nd language acquisition; teaching oral and written skills for TESOL; language testing.
