The School of Politics and International Studies promotes excellence in research in the core disciplines of politics and international studies, and we are particularly committed to promoting interdisciplinary research. In terms of defined interests, we can provide supervisory support across a wide range of specialisms and cross-cutting topics.

Entry requirements

Applicants should normally hold a good Honours degree (upper 2nd Class or 1st Class) in a social science discipline, or an equivalent professional qualification. You will also normally have already completed a Master's degree. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum 6.0 in each component) or equivalent.
