Social and Political Thought

This programme offers students the chance to engage in the advanced study of the complex social and political challenges that face the world at the start of the 21st Century; in particular, this programme is informed by the research priorities of the Bauman Institute, specifically in the areas of consumerism, social inclusion/exclusion, and ethics; by drawing upon a tradition of sociological and political theory, as well as core methodological debates, this programme allows students the opportunity to study alongside research leaders in these areas so as to seek practical applications of theoretical ideas to concrete social and political realities.
