Computing

As well as conducting research in the foundations of computer science, much of our research is application-driven and spans areas such as biomedicine and health, manufacturing, transport and data centres. We collaborate widely with industry (including, Shell, Rolls-Royce, Jaguar Land Rover, and Google), have many joint projects with one of Europe's largest teaching hospitals (Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust), and have excellent connections with other leading researchers throughout the world.

Entry requirements

At least an upper 2nd Class Honours degree (or equivalent from an overseas university), or performance in a Master's level course.

Course modules

Research areas: Biosystems; computer vision; knowledge representation and reasoning; natural language processing; scheduling and constraints; algorithms and complexity; scientific computation; visualisation and virtual reality; internet computing.
