Electronic and Electrical Engineering

This course will appeal to people with a broad interest in electronics and communications, as well as those who are interested in modern communications techniques, radio propagation, cellular mobile systems, control systems, power and drives, and modern system on-chip technology.

Entry requirements

A UK upper 2nd Class Honours degree (2.1), or equivalent, in engineering, computing, physics, or a related discipline; or the equivalent to a lower 2nd Class Honours degree (2.2) accompanied by demonstration of specific competence in electronic and/or electrical engineering. We also welcome and accept students with a wide range of international equivalent qualifications.

Course modules

Modules include: Industry dissertation; mini projects and laboratory; research project. Optional modules: Programming; software development; next generation silicon technologies; wireless communications system design; micro- and nano-electromechanical systems; power electronics and drives; electric power generation by renewable sources; electric drives; FPGA design for system-on-chip; control systems design; embedded microprocessor system design.
