Chemical Biology and Drug Design
This programme highlights the interdisciplinary and 'problem-based' nature of research in chemical biology. It is aimed at students from a wide range of relevant physical/biological science backgrounds. The course provides students with rigorous training in an exciting area of interdisciplinary science. On graduation, students are ideally placed to undertake research in chemical biology and drug design in either industry or academia. In addition, students will also be in a strong position to pursue a science-related career.
1st or an upper 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related subject; international students may require evidence of English language proficiency.
Core modules: Foundations of chemical biology; chemical biology (tools and concepts); the medicinal chemistry of drug development; advanced medicinal chemistry; emerging topics in chemical biology.
