The course includes the analysis of, and decision making in, complex and unpredictable situations; the structure of the programme provides breadth and/or depth of study and opportunities for drawing upon appropriate resources and techniques; opportunities are provided for students to develop interests and informed opinions; their involvement in the design and management of their learning activities; their communication of their conclusions; students are expected to progress to fully autonomous study and work; on completion of the programme, students should have provided evidence of being able to: to demonstrate creatively and originality in the application of knowledge and practice that is supported through research; to display mastery in the understanding of generic concepts; to deal with complex issues, systematically and creatively to enable sound decision making; to identify lead developments in professional practice and contribute to innovation and improving patient care; to integrate leadership, scholarship and evidenced based practice to enhance service provision; to be self-reflective in team work and develop dynamic professional relationships.

Entry requirements

Applicants should be qualified health or social care practitioners or have experience of working in healthcare settings e.g. environmental health scientist, paramedic and or manager in health and social care; applicants will be qualified health or social care practitioners or have experience of working in healthcare settings e.g. environmental health scientist, paramedic and or manager in health and social care; applicants will normally have a recognised higher education 2.1 Honours degree.
