Cancer Cell and Molecular Biology
Normally at least a 2.2 Honours degree or equivalent in biological sciences; non-graduates with several years' appropriate industrial experience are also considered.
Modules include: introduction to molecular technique; research methods in cell biology; research methods in cancer biology; advanced topics in cancer biology; independent laboratory research project.
Continuous assessment is a major element of the course; students are assessed on performance in both the formal laboratory course and 2 written examinations; the laboratory research project constitutes 60 per cent of the assessment for the course; there is also a viva voce examination at the end of the course.
