Cell Physiology and Pharmacology
Students work on a particular research project under the supervision of a member of staff.
2.1 Honours degree in a biological sciences subject; or equivalent.
Examples of recent research projects include: biochemical and mutational analysis of the extracellular ATP-binding domain and antagonist binding site of purinergic P2X receptors; physiological roles of voltage gated potassium channels in cardiac disease and cancer; glucose regulation of proinsulin synthesis in pancreatic �-cells; regulation of P2 receptor function; neurobiological substrates of acoustic trauma leading to tinnitus; modulation of synaptic interactions by nitric oxide.
