Course provides comprehensive coverage of those areas of statistics and information technology essential for medical statistician; emphasis on practical application and adaptation of theory to real contexts and problems.
The course is intended mainly for students with a good honours degree of which mathematics/statistics is the main subject, and with a working knowledge of basic probability and statistics. However, applicants with other suitable backgrounds are considered by the course team.
Modules include: epidemiology; clinical trials; statistical methods; inference; linear models; generalised linear models; repeated measures; survival analysis; options in Bayesian; survival analysis; multivariate; several projects including major summer research project.
Advanced Course studentships from EPSRC and MRC; studentships also provided by several pharmaceutical companies.
