MATLAB and CAD; individual project. Plus 3 option modules from: radio systems; modelling and classification of data; high-reliability embedded systems; robust control; advanced fluid dynamics; understanding surfaces in engineering; electrical machines and drives; advanced solid mechanics; current trends in aerospace; systems engineering and spacecraft system. Plus 4 option modules from: design of discrete systems; real-time signal processing; digital communications; radio communications; embedded systems for condition monitoring and control; nonlinear control; computational fluid dynamics; advanced materials modelling; electronically controlled motor drives; dynamics of mechanical systems; aerospace materials.
Performance in modules is assessed by means of open and closed examination papers and a range of continuously assessed work. All MSc students are required to produce a dissertation which includes the results obtained in the individual project module.
