Normally at least a 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent in a cognate discipline from an approved institution or relevant professional or commercial experience.
Core modules: introduction to geographical information systems; spatial information science; applications of geographical information systems; theories, concepts and applications in sustainable development; research methods and design; thesis; optional modules: database design; digital remote sensing; geographical visualisation; programming for spatial scientists; environmental economics; sustainable water resource management; critical resource geographies; environmental models and applications; sustainable management of biological resources.
All campus-based modules are assessed by a variety of coursework and/or examination. The dissertation is assessed separately and accounts for one third of the total credits required for the MSc.
