Cognitive Behavioural Studies (Professional Studies)

The programme covers the theoretical, research and practice-based knowledge of CBT in order to incorporate it into the students own therapeutic work.

Entry requirements

Course open to qualified counsellors and psychotherapists with considerable training and experience in a modality other than cognitive behavioural therapy and with graduate status; applicants should ideally be BACP accredited or UKCP registered or eligible to apply for professional accreditation.

Course modules

Core modules: introduction to the principles and practices of CBT; CBT principles and practices re specific clinical diagnoses; CBT interventions for personality disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Assessment methods

Modules are assessed by an essay or tape assignment, and a reflective learning journal.
