Accounting and Finance
Students study a broad range of finance and accounting techniques and concepts; applicants study senior accounting and finance roles in both public and private sector organisations; successful completion allows for direct entry to the Chartered Institute of Marketing's professional certificate in marketing.
A good Honours degree (or its overseas equivalent) or an acceptable professional qualification .
Stage 1: Foundations of professional knowledge and skills; foundations of financial analysis and investment; financial statements: theory, practice, critique; accountability, representations and control; financial modelling. Stage 2: Accounting representations; corporate finance; plus 2 electives are undertaken; dissertation.
The MSc in Accounting and Finance is a full-time programme which takes 12 months to complete. Modules 1-5 are studied between September and the end of December. Modules 6-9 are studied between January and May. Each module requires students to write an assignment and/or sit an examination. The dissertation, which is the concluding element of the programme, is completed by the end of August.
