Management, Finance and Accounting
Students study a broad range of management, finance and accounting concepts, and their application to a range of organisational contexts and situations; the course covers concepts of financial management and accounting and general management tools and techniques.
A 2.1 Honours degree (or its equivalent) or an acceptable professional qualification.
Core modules: Foundations of professional knowledge and skills; foundations of financial analysis and investment; organisational analysis; accountability, representations and control; the business environment; accounting representations, public and private sector; critical perspectives on management; research methods; dissertation; 2 optional modules: a critical enquiry into consultancy; alternative economies; critical approaches to HRM; developments in business finance; management accounting; managing diversity; managing information, technology and systems; social and environmental accounting.
A mixture of teaching methods is used, including lectures, group work, case study analysis and guided reading. Student performance is assessed through both assignments and examinations.
