Finance, Markets and Organisations
The MSc Finance, Markets and Organisations will provides students with a combination of technical and critical skills allowing them an advanced and specialist understanding of the evolution, nature and functioning of contemporary financial markets. Providing students with a grounding in financial market analysis from different perspectives, as well as a broad range of accounting and management competencies, this degree gives students the foundation skills that enhances their capacity to enter a career in finance or related fields.
Applicants require a good UK Honours degree or its overseas equivalent.
Core modules: behavioural finance; financial statements: theory, practice, critique; foundations of financial analysis and investment; foundations of knowledge and professional skills; social studies of finance 1; social studies of finance 2; technology in financial markets; plus dissertation. Option modules: 2 modules from the following (subject to availability): accountability, representations and control; accounting representations: public and private sector; corporate finance; corporate governance; finance and society; management accounting.
We use a mixture of teaching methods including lectures, group work, case study analysis and guided reading. Students' work is assessed through both assignments and exams.
