Students study the practice of social research; upon completion of the course students have acquired the necessary academic skills to develop, conduct and evaluate social research.
A 2nd Class Honours degree in a relevant social science subject, other qualifications may be recognised.
Modules include: Knowledge and method I; knowledge and method II; introductory data analysis; advanced data analysis; research in context I; research in context II; dissertation.
Courses are assessed principally by essay and project work; a 10,000 to 15,000 word supervised dissertation is also required.
Course is recognised for ESRC 1+3 funding.
