Researchers in the School of Architecture and Design contribute to an interdisciplinary community working to advance architectural knowledge and address the emerging issues facing professionals in the sector. A structured programme of research training enables students to develop the skills and competencies they require for study and future career. work. Exceptional students may have the opportunity to contribute to undergraduate teaching at the University. The School of Architecture & Design is recognised for its expertise in the fields of sustainability, liveable cities, cultural contexts and habitat. Academic research in the School is informed by the latest developments and debates in industry.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have a good Honours degree in architecture or a related subject.

Course modules

Research areas include: history and theory of architecture and design; urban design; environmental design; shelter, development and regeneration; participatory design; exhibition and event design and management; interior design; heritage and conservation; museum and exhibition design; communicative environment.

Sponsorship information

All UK or EU students who hold a First or Upper Second Class Honours degree from another institution will receive a 20% reduction in tuition fees when they enrol on a University of Lincoln taught Masters programme. The scholarship is offset against tuition fee payments due for each academic year of study. Please note that the Master of Architecture (Part Two) and MBA programmes are exceptions to this scheme, as other scholarships are in place for those courses.
