Interior Architecture and Design

This programme is designed for art, architecture and design graduates who wish to specialise in creative approaches to interiors in buildings and environmental design. The programme enables students to explore the potential of spaces and structures with input from expert lecturers and practitioners. Students will benefit from a multidisciplinary studio environment at the School of Architecture & Design, offering an integrated approach to research and study. They may choose to engage with the vibrant research community in the School to inform their investigations. This programme enables students to develop their intellectual and creative approaches in order to consider interior architecture in the context of buildings and environmental design.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have, or expect to receive, a relevant 1st degree (2.2 minimum) or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of experience. All applicants should submit a digital portfolio with their application. International students will require English language at IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in each element, or equivalent.

Course modules

Modules include: interior architecture and design research methods; preparatory work; definition and direction, thesis project.

Assessment methods

Formative assessment occurs regularly throughout the programme by means of student critiques, draft written assignments and progress review. Summative assessment is via project presentation supported by written project documentation.

Sponsorship information

All UK or EU students who hold a 1st or Upper 2nd Class Honours degree from another institution will receive a 20% reduction in tuition fees when they enrol on a University of Lincoln taught Master's programme. The scholarship is offset against tuition fee payments due for each academic year of study. Please note that the Master of Architecture (Part 2) and MBA programmes are exceptions to this scheme, as other scholarships are in place for those courses.
