This programme is designed to equip students with the advanced knowledge and skills to develop the innovative solutions required by today's rapidly advancing computing industry. Developments in artificial intelligence, computer vision, robotics, mobile technology and games applications have all become a normal part of society's interaction with computing devices. This programme enables students to enhance their existing knowledge of computer programming and mathematical frameworks through laboratory workshops, lectures, debates and independent research. Working alongside expert staff, students will develop a critical understanding and gain practical experience in innovative areas such as computer vision and surveillance, robotics and mobile computing in order to develop innovative solutions to current and future challenges.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 2.2 in a relevant Honours degree (or international equivalent). International students will require English language at IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in each element, or equivalent.

Course modules

Topics of study include: advanced artificial intelligence; advanced programming; advanced software engineering; computer vision; interaction design; machine learning; mobile and connected devices; research methods; research project.

Assessment methods

The module assessments are based on practical coursework developments and examinations for each module. The final stage research project provides the opportunity to specialise and to complete a piece of work of significant complexity.

Sponsorship information

All UK or EU students who hold a First or Upper Second Class Honours degree from another institution will receive a 20% reduction in tuition fees when they enrol on a University of Lincoln taught Master's programme. The scholarship is offset against tuition fee payments due for each academic year of study.
