This programme is designed to equip you with the advanced knowledge and skills to develop the innovative solutions required by today�s rapidly advancing computing industry. Developments in artificial intelligence, computer vision, robotics, mobile technology and games applications have all become a normal part of society�s interaction with computing devices. At the University of Lincoln, the MSc Computer Science enables you to enhance your existing knowledge of computer programming and mathematical frameworks through laboratory workshops, lectures, debates and independent research. Working alongside expert staff, you will develop your critical understanding and gain practical experience in innovative areas such as computer vision and surveillance, robotics and mobile computing in order to develop innovative solutions to current and future challenges.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 2.2 in a relevant Honours degree, or an equivalent qualification.

Course modules

Topics of study include: Advanced artificial intelligence; Advanced programming; Advanced software engineering; Computer vision; Interaction design; Machine learning; Mobile and connected devices; Research methods (MSc Computer Science); Research project.

Assessment methods

The module assessments are based on practical coursework developments and examinations for each module. The final stage research project provides the opportunity to specialise and to complete a piece of work of significant complexity.

Sponsorship information

All UK or EU students who hold a First or Upper Second Class Honours degree from another institution will receive a 20% reduction in tuition fees when they enrol on a University of Lincoln taught Master's programme. The scholarship is offset against tuition fee payments due for each academic year of study.
