Research opportunities are available in a variety of areas relevant to today�s engineering industry. The School of Engineering is a Centre of Industrial Research and Development Excellence, with expertise centred on core disciplines of mechanical engineering, bio-fuels and combustion engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, control and systems engineering, vehicle engineering and materials processing. During these programmes, you will collaborate with industry on projects that deliver tangible benefits to employers, the sector and society. A range of training programmes are offered to support your development and enhance your skills. Research students are supported in publishing their work in conference proceedings and international learned society journals, and are encouraged to present their work as part of the University�s research seminar series.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 in a relevant Honours degree, or a Master's degree.

Course modules

Opportunities for research within the School of Engineering exist in a range of areas within our core disciplines of: mechanical engineering; combustion engineering; electrical and electronic engineering; control and systems engineering; aeronautical and automotive engineering; laser materials processing.

Sponsorship information

All UK or EU students who hold a 1st or Upper 2nd Class Honours degree from another institution will receive a 20% reduction in tuition fees when they enrol on a University of Lincoln taught Master's programme. The scholarship is offset against tuition fee payments due for each academic year of study. Please note that the Master of Architecture (Part 2) and MBA programmes are exceptions to this scheme, as other scholarships are in place for those courses.
