Human Resource Development

This programme is ideal if you are currently involved in human resource development or training, or are interested in pursuing a career in this specialist area. The course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) as fulfilling the 'knowledge elements' necessary to achieve full membership of the CIPD. Students undertake compulsory training and development modules and have the opportunity to develop their expertise in human resource development through the research and writing of a dissertation. They explore the importance of human resources in relation to the strategy and performance of organisations.

Entry requirements

A good honours degree or equivalent professional qualification and professional experience.

Course modules

Modules include leading, managing and developing people; professional practice; human resource management in context; data analysis and financial communications; resourcing and talent management; learning and talent management; employee relations; performance management; leadership and management development; employment law; strategies for responsible business; investigating an business issue from an human resource perspective; applied research; strategic interventions.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include written assignments, individual and group presentation, portfolio development. There are two examinations.

Sponsorship information

All UK or EU students who hold a First or Upper Second Class Honours degree from another institution will receive a 20% reduction in tuition fees when they enrol on a University of Lincoln taught Master's programme. The scholarship is offset against tuition fee payments due for each academic year of study.
