Events Management

This course develops students' and expertise to equip them for the demands of a senior-level career in the events sector. The continued growth and globalisation of the events industry means that companies and events organisations are continually searching for individuals with the knowledge, skills and reflective capabilities required for managing events. This programme helps students develop expertise and skills relevant to the exercising of senior management functions in the sector. There is a strong international focus to all events-related modules and there are a number of opportunities for links with event-based enterprises. Themes such as sustainability run throughout the programme, which is strongly based on cutting-edge research and management activity undertaken by academics, visiting academics and industry managers.

Entry requirements

A 2.2 Honours degree, or an equivalent qualification. Substantial relevant work experience may be taken into consideration.

Course modules

Modules include: Sustainability of tourism and events; arts, performance and society; the visitor experience at cultural and heritage attractions; the new marketing environment; events-based consultancy project; research design and dissertation.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include written and oral presentation, numeracy, and the use of software for presentation and analysis.

Sponsorship information

All UK or EU students who hold a 1st or Upper 2nd Class Honours degree from another institution will receive a 20% reduction in tuition fees when they enrol on a University of Lincoln taught Master's programme. The scholarship is offset against tuition fee payments due for each academic year of study. Please note that the Master of Architecture (Part 2) and MBA programmes are exceptions to this scheme, as other scholarships are in place for those courses.
