Advanced Computer Science
The minimum entry requirement is a 2.2 Honours degree, or above, in computer science or a closely related subject. All applicants must have reached a minimum required standard of English language, qualifications accepted include GCSE English; A-level English; language; IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 5.5) in each component); TOEFL iBT 88 or above with minimum scores in components as follows: listening and writing 21, reading 22, speaking 23.
Core modules: research methods in computer science; Msc project. Optional modules: knowledge representation; privacy and security; advanced algorithmic techniques; biocomputation; safety and dependability; applied algorithmics; data mining and visualisation; multi-core and multi-processor programming; computational intelligence; multi-agent systems; technologies for e-commerce; semantics of programming languages; advanced web technologies; research methods in computer science; geographic data science; image processing; optimisation; algorithmic game theory; information theory and coding; machine learning and bioinspired optimisation; reasoning about action and change; web mapping and analysis.
