Research Methods in Psychology

This programme provides the psychological knowledge and research skills needed to pursue doctoral level studies in psychology and to enhance a psychology career. There is a major, supervised empirical study component and a research dissertation to submit.

Entry requirements

At least a 2.1 Honours degree in psychology, or related subject, or extensive research experience. All applicants must have reached a minimum required standard of English language, qualifications accepted include GCSE English; A-level English language; IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each component); TOEFL iBT 88 or above with minimum scores in components as follows: listening and writing 21, reading 22, speaking 23.

Course modules

Modules include: project management; quantitative and qualitative research; statistics.

Sponsorship information

Students may apply, in competition, to the ESRC for financial support.
