Perinatal and Reproductive Medicine
Research themes include: Research synthesis and clinical trials; obstetric care in low resource setting; biology of the developing lung; paediatric rheumatology; prevention of preterm birth and better care for babies born prematurely; developing better medicines for pregnant women and children; epidemiological studies in perinatal depression; paediatric infections; stem cell therapy for hirschsprung�s disease; optimising care pathway for women with endometriosis; cell biology of childhood malignancies.
Non-medically qualified staff must hold a 1st degree to be able to work towards the degree; medically qualified staff require a medical degree from an EU or other approved university; normally, candidates have been qualified for at least 4 years & have considerable experience in obstetrics & gynaecology & preterm birth before embarking on a degree programme.
