Environmental Assessment and Management

On this programme, you will develop environmental planning and management skills. You'll also gain an understanding of the environmental implications of development action and of the wider social, political and economic issues surrounding decisions about the environment.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 Honours degree, or above, in a related area from an approved university or equivalent. Applications from those with non traditional qualifications and relevant work experience will be considered. All applicants must have reached a minimum required standard of English language, qualifications accepted include GCSE English; A-level English; language; IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each component); TOEFL iBT 88 or above with minimum scores in components as follows: listening and writing 21, reading 22, speaking 23.

Course modules

Core modules: Politics of the environment; environmental assessment of policies, plans, programmes and projects; geographical information systems; business and the environment; green infrastructure: concepts, perceptions and its applications in spatial planning; environmental planning and management project; dissertation Mcd/MA/MSc planning; optional modules: geohazards and risk mitigation; politics of the environment; human impacts on environments; public finance; marine planning and management in action; tackling environmental issues.
