Students take compulsory modules on a variety of subjects relating to the history and culture of the Isle of Man, including archaeology, language and literature, political and economic history, art and music, and folk life. There are also 2 research skills modules which will equip you to plan your work and produce your 5,000 to 6,000 word dissertation at the end of the academic year.
A 2.1 Honours degree, or equivalent undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study. All applicants must have reached a minimum required standard of English language, qualifications accepted include GCSE English; A-level English language; IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each component); TOEFL iBT 100, with no element lower than 22.
Core modules: Dissertation; extended essay; research skills I; issues in Manx archaeology; the economy of the isle of man; Manx Folklife; research skills II; the political history of the isle of man; the language and literature of the isle of man; Manx art and music.
