This course involves directed research which culminates in the production of 15,000-word dissertation. It allows postgraduates to pursue an individual research project through weekly supervisory meetings with a subject specialist. Alongside modules which are designed to provide a course of guided research, students also take a compulsory taught module which introduces them to the discipline of modern language studies in the UK and to the range and diversity of current research in languages and cultures.

Entry requirements

BA or BSc degree of 2.1 standard in a subject relevant to the proposed field of research.
