Operations and Supply Chain Management

The course teaches education in operations and supply chain management principles, theories and practice; it provides a theoretical and practical exposition of the factors that are necessary for effective operations and supply management in today's global and highly competitive markets; the course demonstrates how successful operations performance can shape and influence the sales and profit ambition of a business; participants a provided with a profound understanding of the processes and techniques for developing operations strategy and managing operations and supply chain activities; the programme enables students to acquire knowledge and understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of operations and supply chain management.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 Honours degree in management, engineering, science or related disciplines or an equivalent academic qualification. Non-graduates with very extensive professional experience and or other prior qualifications may also be considered. All applicants must have reached a minimum required standard of English language, qualifications accepted include GCSE English; A-level English; language; IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 6.0) in each component); TOEFL Paper 570 TWE of 4-4.5.

Course modules

Core modules: Business analysis and management; strategic operations management; supply chain operations management; lean thinking; strategic purchasing management; logistics and physical distribution; optional modules: total quality management; modelling and simulating operations; project and portfolio management; enterprise management systems; financial and legal implications of international trade; managing energy sources; economics of oil, gas and energy.
