International Accounting and Finance (online)

The programme provides students with a balance of strategic and tactical management skills from an accounting and finance perspective and places great emphasis on the measurement of performance to best support an organisation's strategic initiatives; students acquire skills to more definitively assess the accounting and financial approaches best suited to position global organisations for long-term success in the global marketplace; the programme provides a thorough grounding in the field of international accounting and finance; students can focus on a specific area by following a pre-defined specialisation track: international financial reporting; strategic finance practice; or emerging markets.

Entry requirements

Bachelors degree equivalent to Honours degree in economics, finance, accounting; English equivalent to minimum of IELTS test level 6.5 overall, TOEFL 570 paper based test / 88 Internet based test / TEEP 6.5.

Course modules

Core modules: International financial reporting and analysis; strategic managerial accounting and performance management; assurance and management control; strategic financial management; international corporate governance and finance; accounting information systems and technology; 2 optional modules: international corporate finance; treasury management and ethics; financial analysis and valuation; financial markets and institutions; Islamic finance; finance in emerging markets; social entrepreneurship; entrepreneurial finance; advanced international financial reporting and analysis.

Assessment methods

In addition to the 6 compulsory and 2 elective modules, students complete a dissertation.
