The programme leads to the following learning outcomes for students a sound understanding of the principal environmental policy issues confronting managers in diverse geographical and culture situations; an awareness of the ethical and moral issues involved in seeking the wise and sustainable use of resources; a range of relevant practical skills, particularly in the fields of impact assessment, audit and law.
A degree in appropriate subject required for MSc; graduates in other disciplines, or non-graduates with degree-equivalent qualifications, whose previous education included suitable preliminary training, can be considered for admission to Postgraduate Diploma; advanced level of proficiency in English is required, equivalent to IELTS score 7.0 or TOEFL Test of English score 600.
Modules include: Environmental science and management; environmental auditing and environmental management systems; environmental assessment; introduction to environmental economics and policy; climate change and development; environmental valuation: theory, techniques and application; ethics for environment and development; international environmental law; NGO management; sustainable forest management; sustainable land management; water resources management.
