This programme is designed to act as a bridge between BSc and PhD degrees, but is equally suited to industrial chemists, who need to refresh their skills, or those wishing to broaden their research experience before taking up an academic post, such as university teaching assistant.
A minimum of 2.2 Honours degree or equivalent in chemistry, analytical chemistry, pharmacy, biochemistry or other related disciplines.
Modules include: Spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance; organic chemistry; organometallic and inorganic chemistry; x-ray diffraction and solid state chemistry; polymer chemistry; project and research skills.
Assessment is by a research project.
