Advanced Computer Science and Information Technology Management
This course is designed to appeal to those who wish to actively participate in the business of exploiting information communication technology as a strategic tool for the development of organisations, whilst maintaining their own technological advancement as professional computer scientists.
A 2.1 Honours degree, or overseas equivalent, in computer science, or a joint degree with at least 50 per cent computer science content; 3 years' relevant computer science industrial experience and an Honours degree, or its overseas equivalent, may also be considered; IELTS 6.5 (with no less than 6 in any of the sub-categories); internet based TOEFL 100 with 24 in writing; computer based TOEFL 250 with 5 in TWE; Cambridge proficiency grade C.
Modules include: Research methods and professional skills; research methods and professional skills; data analytics for business decision making; information and knowledge management; semi-structured data and the web; principles of digital biology; introduction to health informatics; data engineering; IT governance.
Assessment is a mixture of written examinations, computer based practical work, and a range of coursework assessments including assessed mini-projects, group projects, reports and essays; plus a project dissertation.
