Power Electronics, Machines and Drives

This course has been designed to equip electrical engineers with the knowledge and skills that are required to design modern PEMD systems, it includes the fundamentals of electrical machine and power electronics design, system integration, control, energy management and protection. The course is designed for students to build up a solid foundation in the relevant technologies and integrate these in systems. Eight taught course modules (four in each semester) are offered between September and April, followed by an individual research project from May onwards.
