The course covers the influence of factors, such as recycling and process chemistry, on the physical properties of the sheet, and looks at ways to improve them; it also looks at improving the efficiency of raw materials and energy in manufacturing processes.
Applicants require: MPhil/MSc by research: a 2.2 Honours degree, or equivalent in a science or engineering subject; PhD: a 2.1 Honours or equivalent 1st degree in a science or engineering subject; IELTS (6.5 with no sub-test under 5.5); TOEFL (570 with 5.0 in TWE); CBTOEFL (230 with 5.0 in TWE).
EPSRC-funded PhD places plus other sponsored posts for UK/EU students are available every year; overseas Research Students Awards Scheme (ORS) Scholarships are available for non-EU nationals.
