Financial Mathematics

Entry requirements

MPhil

Applicants would usually be expected to have a 1st or Upper 2nd class Bachelor Honours Degree and an MSc degree with Merit or Distinction or a 1st class MMath (or an equivalent overseas qualification) in a mathematical subject. In some research areas a background in physics, engineering or computer science is also acceptable.
All applicants for postgraduate study should have a very good command of written and spoken English. Students whose first language is not English require a minimum score of IELTS 6.5 with at least 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in each other component or equivalent. Students should normally have a minimum of IELTS 5.0 or equivalent prior to application. International students will be required to apply for an ATAS clearance certificate for this course.
